Summary:

The Anishinaabe people of Manitoulin Island, known by others as the Ojibwe, Odawa and Potawatomi have a rich culture of storytelling. The Anishinaabe history and tradition has been passed down from generation to generation by respected and cherished elders who shared the stories they learned from their elders. The Anishinaabe people are master storytellers and believe in sharing these ancient and beautiful stories about their culture and history. We are honoured to share this long-established tradition with you and invite you to watch, listen and read along with James Panamick as he shares an Anishinaabe story about how his people were given the gift and teaching of the Dream Catcher. This beautiful story about living with Mother Nature and respect for all is as relevant today as it has ever been. Most people have seen a dream catcher. Few, however, know the traditional story and origin.
