Cynthia Rylant has written more than one hundred children's books, from board books and picturebooks to chapter books and novels. Rylant won the Newbery Medal for her novel Missing May, and a Newbery Honor for A Fine White Dust. She's also the author of two Caldecott Honor books and more than twenty Henry and Mudge chapter books. In 2006, she became the first recipient of the Theodor Seuss Geisel Award for Henry and Mudge and the Great Grandpas. Erin McGuire works primarily as an illustrator of picture books and middle-grade novels, including Breadcrumbs by Anne Ursu and the Nancy Drew Diaries series, and her work has also been featured in a number of publications.
