Wade Hemsworth was a Canadian folk singer and songwriter, most notably the creator of âThe Black Fly Song,â and, of course, âThe Log Driverâs Waltz.â After Hemsworthâs passing in 2002, Governor General Adrienne Clarkson declared his songs âso much a part of our folklore...that we didnât realize anyone had written them.â
