Summary:

Desperate for a splashy win, Democratic political consultant Gary Zimmer (Steve Carell) was taken with a viral town hall video of plain-speaking Wisconsin farmer/veteran Jack Hastings (Chris Cooper). Gary successfully pitches Jack on a mayoral run in his deep-red community--a task that gets tougher when Zimmer's old Republican nemesis, Faith Brewster (Rose Byrne), lends her savvy to the incumbent.
