Brian Floca is the author and illustrator of the popular Five Trucks (about which Booklist asked, in a starred review, "If picture books about trucks are so easy to do, why do we see so many poor ones and so few as good as this?") and Dinosaurs at the Ends of the Earth: The Story of the Central Asiatic Expeditions.

He has illustrated Avi's Boston Globe-Horn Book award-winning Poppy and its three sequels, as well as the graphic novel City of Light, City of Dark: A Comic-Book Novel. A native of Texas, Mr. Floca now lives in Brooklyn, New York.
