Daphne Odjig was born in 1919 on the Wikwemikong Reserve, Manitoulin Island, Ontario. She has received numerous accolades for her art, including an appointment to the Order of Canada, an election to the Royal Canadian Academy of Art and , most recently, the National Aboriginal Achievement Award.
Bob Boyer is a major Canadian artist. Since 1978 he has been Associate Professor of Indian Art History and Department Head of Indian Fine Arts at the Saskatchewan Indian Federated College.
Carol Podedworny has been curating and writing about Canadian contemporary and First Nations art since 1984 and has received numerous awards for her work. She is the Director of the University of Waterloo Art Gallery and also teaches in the Department of Fine Arts.
Phillip Gevik is the owner of Gallery Phillip and Gallery Gevik in Toronto. He has been a collector and dealer of Native Canadian art for more than twenty-five years, and has been representing Daphne Odjig since 1980.
