Licheng Gu is a professor of Chinese and the director of the African and Asian languages program at Northwestern University. He is the author of Picture Characters: Learning Characters through Pictographs. He lives in Wilmette, Illinois. Laura Hambleton is the author and illustrator of Chameleon Races, Chameleon Swims, I'm Afraid Too!, and Welcome to the Lizard Lounge. She is the coauthor of several books in the Milet Wordwise series and the illustrator of the Abby and Zak series; How Bees Be; Jump, Jog, Leapfrog; and Telling Tails.
