The city, ruled by five powerful female sorcerers, at first dazzles the siblings. But beneath Halfway's glittery surface seethes ambition, violence, prejudice, blackmail, and impending chaos. Without knowing it, Tell and Wren have walked straight into a sorcerers' coup.
