- Kingdom of Bones [sound recording] : a thriller / by Rollins, James,1961-author.; Baskous, Christian,narrator.; Harper Audio (Firm),publisher.;
Read by Christian Baskous."It begins in Africa ... A United Nations relief team in a small village in the Congo makes an alarming discovery. An unknown force is leveling the evolutionary playing field. Men, women, and children have been reduced to a dull, catatonic state. The environment surrounding them--plants and animals--has grown more cunning and predatory, evolving at an exponential pace. The insidious phenomenon is spreading from a cursed site in the jungle known to locals as the Kingdom of Bones and sweeping across Africa, threatening the rest of the world. What has made the biosphere run amok? Is it a natural event? Or more terrifyingly, did someone engineer it? Commander Gray Pierce and Sigma Force are prepared for the extraordinary and have kept the world safe, vigilance for which they have paid a tragic personal price. Yet, even these brilliant and seasoned scientific warriors do not understand what is behind this frightening development--or know how to stop it. As they race to find answers, the members of Sigma quickly realize they have become the prey. To head off global catastrophe, Sigma Force must risk their lives to uncover the shattering secret at the heart of the African continent--a truth that will illuminate who we are as a species and where we may be headed ... sooner than we know. Mother Nature--red in tooth and claw--is turning against humankind, propelling the entire world into the Kingdom of Bones."-from publisher's description.

But on the road to Jacksonville, where a possible escape awaits, there's more than one interested party on the pair's trail, and the glimpse they had of getting away scot free suddenly seems elusive. - Rebuild your bones : the 12-week osteoporosis protocol / by Calton, Mira,author.; Calton, Jayson,author.;
Includes bibliographical references and index."Mira and Jayson Calton know all about building strong bones; Mira developed advanced osteoporosis at the age of 30 and, with Jayson's help, reversed her disease through micronutrient therapy. Readers will be shocked to learn that their so-called "healthy" diets may actually be contributing to their micronutrient deficiencies and ultimately their osteoporosis. In fact, the majority of the foods many of us eat are micronutrient-poor, filled with what the Caltons call "naked calories"--foods that have been stripped of their essential, health-promoting micronutrients. Our diets are also filled with antinutrients--naturally occurring substances in certain foods that can reduce the body's ability to absorb micronutrients. In Mira's case, she was getting plenty of these naked calories and antinutrients, but very few of the vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, and amino acids her body needed to maintain strong bones. In Rebuild Your Bones, the Caltons reveal how our lifestyle habits may be depleting essential micronutrients in our bodies. They provide an easy-to-follow prescriptive plan to reverse these effects, including recipes and meal plans that will appeal to all readers (including keto, paleo, low-carb, vegan, and low-fat options), exercise advice, supplement plans, and checklists. This is the go-to guide for anyone who wants to safely and naturally reverse or stave off osteoporosis, without drugs"--

- Close to the Bone. by Thomas, Jared,film director.; McKinnon, Malcolm,film director.; Ronin Films (Firm),dst; Kanopy (Firm),dst;
Originally produced by Ronin Films in 2022.In September 1852, in South Australia’s Flinders Ranges, the mutilated body of 16-year-old shepherd, James Brown, was found. The next day, a reprisal party of 17 men killed a disputed number of First Nations people. 170 years later, descendants of James Brown’s family return to the Flinders Ranges and reach out to people from some of the Aboriginal groups and share memories of the traumatic early period of European invasion. What happens when stories of violence and conquest on Australia’s colonial frontier are more than just an historical abstraction, with powerful and personal meanings for families and individuals on both sides of the inter-cultural frontier? Can the scars of past atrocities be reconciled and healed through the act of truth-telling? CLOSE TO THE BONE is a practical exercise in ‘truth and reconciliation,’ engaging with culturally and politically challenging material, in an effort to forge shared understandings. The film reveals diverse understandings of historic events, while seeking to resolve a shared path forward. In doing so, the film is informed by Charlie Perkins’ words: ‘We know we cannot live in the past, but the past lives in us.’Mode of access: World Wide Web.
