Clove has gone to extremes to keep her past a secret. Thanks to her lies, she's landed the life of her dreams, complete with a safe husband and two adoring children who will never know the terror that was routine in her own childhood. If her buried anxiety threatens to breach the surface, Clove (if that is really her name) focuses on finding the right supplement, the right gratitude meditation. But when she receives a letter from a women's prison in California, her past comes screeching into the present, entangling her in a dangerous game with memory and the people she thought she had outrun. As we race between her precarious present-day life in Portland, Oregon and her childhood in a Waikiki high-rise with her mother and father, Clove is forced to finally unravel the defining day of her life. How did she survive that day, and what will it take to end the cycle of violence? Will the truth undo her, or could it ultimately save her?

"If you're like most people, you have a voice in your head telling you to work harder, be better, make more friends, and screw up less. It frowns at your mistakes, warns you that your list needs tending, and questions your attractiveness. It's a bully. And you don't actually need it. The path to personal nirvana is routed through your inner critic. Better Days will help you confront and immobilize the superego-that nagging little voice in your head that sneers at your mistakes, questions your worth, and whose snarky commentary keeps you stuck in a childish cycle of reward and punishment. The method is simple, fun, and riveting: First you meet your inner critic. Then you talk to it. Then you speak up whenever it pokes in. Eventually it gets the picture that you don't need it, and it shuts up. Chilean Experiences in East German Cinema. by Scheumann, Gerhard,film director.; Jordan, Günter,film director.; Steinheisser, Jürgen,film director.; Ackermann, Rainer,film director.; Milanov, Valentin,film director.; Heynowski, Walter,film director.; DEFA Film Library (Firm),dst; Kanopy (Firm),dst;
Originally produced by DEFA Film Library in 1974.In the 1970s, the East German DEFA Studios responded to the military coup in Chile in 1973. They produced films about Chile and Chilean exiles that were not simply reactions to the political upheavals or demonstrations of solidarity with the Chilean people. In many cases, Chilean artists were directly involved in the creation of these films or were central to the film’s story. This program of six short documentaries features Chilean music (Aparcoa, 1977) and tells daily stories of Chilean exiles in their new East German homeland (A Chilean Wedding, 1977; Copihuito, 1977). The three films by the legendary H&S Studio, a private East German film group, are part of their 10-film Chilean Cycle (1974-1985). They use rare footage to picture the situation at the presidential palace La Moneda on September 11, 1973, the day of the military coup (Fellow Citizens, 1974), and investigate dictator Pinochet’s politics (Psalm 18, 1974) and underground resistance (Money Troubles, 1975).Mode of access: World Wide Web.

Best. Ceremony. Ever. : how to make the serious wedding stuff unique / by Shelley, Christopher(Wedding officiant),author.;
"Certified life-cycle celebrant Christopher Shelley is on a mission to revolutionize the wedding ceremony--or at least to make it as enjoyable as the reception. In Best. Ceremony. Ever., he will forever alter the way couples and wedding pros think about tying the knot. Shelley, who has officiated hundreds of weddings, walks couples and officiants through working together, from setting the atmosphere to telling an unforgettable love story. He shares questions for the couple to ask themselves before meeting with their officiant, and offers a wedding vow workshop and complete sample ceremonies. Shelley cares about the guests as much as the couple getting married, and his friendly, entertaining guide is a treasure chest of ideas to make guests laugh, cry, and then laugh at how much they're crying. From announcing the wedding (insert cliff-hanger) to selecting venues (consider breweries!) to choreographing processionals (dance party!) to explosive recessionals (balloon drop!), opportunities to surprise guests abound."--Amazon.com.
