Bobby Seale, George Carlin, Jerry Rubin, John Lennon, Mike Douglas, Yoko OnoOriginally produced by Kino Lorber in 2024.For one extraordinary week beginning on February 14th, 1972, the Revolution WAS televised. DAYTIME REVOLUTION takes us back in time to the week that John Lennon and Yoko Ono descended upon a Philadelphia broadcasting studio to co-host the iconic Mike Douglas Show, at the time the most popular show on daytime television with an audience of 40 million viewers a week. What followed was five unforgettable episodes of television, with Lennon and Ono at the helm and Douglas bravely keeping the show on track. Acting as both producers and hosts, Lennon and Ono handpicked their guests, including controversial choices like Yippie founder Jerry Rubin and Black Panther Chairman Bobby Seale, as well as political activist Ralph Nader and comic truth teller George Carlin. Their version of daytime TV was a radical take on the traditional format, incorporating candid Q&A sessions with their transfixed audience, conversations about current issues like police violence and women’s liberation, conceptual art events, and one-of-a-kind musical performances, including a unique duet with Lennon and Chuck Berry and a poignant rendition of Lennon’s “Imagine.” A document of the past that speaks to our turbulent present, DAYTIME REVOLUTION captures the power that art can have when it reaches out to communicate, the prescience of that dialogue, and the bravery of two artists who never took the easy way out as they fought for their vision of a better world.Mode of access: World Wide Web.

Originally produced by MVD Entertainment Group in 2015.Russian activists Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Ekaterina Samutsevich left Viona, an established activist collective, in order to form their own feminist punk rock group dubbed Pussy Riot. Three of the girls were again arrested and threatened with seven years in prison. Initially offered liberty if they agreed to confess and repent for their "crimes," the women refused to budge and were sentenced to two years in prison. - Uncle Vanya. by Tuminas, Rimas,film director.; Dubrovskaya, Anna,actor.; Kregzhde, Eugeniya,actor.; Makovetskiy, Sergey,actor.; Simonov, Vladimir,actor.; Stage Russia (Firm),dst; Kanopy (Firm),dst;
Anna Dubrovskaya, Eugeniya Kregzhde, Sergey Makovetskiy, Vladimir SimonovOriginally produced by Stage Russia in 2018.Rimas Tuminas' reimagining of Anton Chekhov's tale about broken illusions and dashed hopes is freed from its traditional trappings, leaving behind a battlefield for passions and colliding ambitions. We are given an empty space from which life has departed, a theater space with grey slips, a plaster of Paris lion – a symbol of Petersburg, perhaps the ancestor who built the house came from there, a workbench made out of rough boards, an old sofa, several chairs of different colors. This UNCLE VANYA is about what Chekhov’s characters think and what they admit to only at moments of emotional turmoil. They are at times tongue-tied or overly brutal, but their revelations break out of them fervently, desperately just as a man breaks out of a stuffy room into the open air. A Golden Mask Winner for Best Drama, featuring the inimitable Sergey Makovetskiy as Voynitsky.Mode of access: World Wide Web.
