Hélène Surgère, Jacqueline Danno, Jacques Perrin, Julien Guiomar, Paul Barge, Sonia SaviangeOriginally produced by Altered Innocence in 1970.An unconventional French giallo released before the sub-genre’s popularity boom resulting from filmmakers like Dario Argento and Lucio Fulci, THE STRANGLER centers on Émile (Jacques Perrin), a handsome young man targeting women he believes are too depressed to go on living. As multiple women fall to Émile’s suffocating white scarf, inspector Simon Dangret, the detective assigned to track down the killer, resorts to seriously unorthodox and even unethical methods to get his man with the assistance of Anna, a beautiful woman who believes herself to be a potential victim.Praised as a “complex, melancholic meditation on isolation as well as a portrait of collective hysteria” by the New York Film Festival, the film equally subverts and indulges in the conventions of the giallo with unexpected beauty and refinement.Mode of access: World Wide Web.

Pencil-pushers in the Human Resources Office, best friends Zohar (Dana Ivgy) and Daffi (Nelly Tagar) spend their time playing video games, singing pop songs, jousting with stationery and dreaming of Tel Aviv. The indolent twosome are watched over by their aspiring senior officer, Rama (Shani Klein), who dreams of a higher position and a significant military career, but with a platoon of unskilled, idle, female soldiers without any drive under her charge, her ambitions for promotion are constantly thwarted.PG.DVD ; widescreen presentation ; Dolby Digital 5.1 and stereo.

- Under the Fig Trees. by Sehiri, Erige,film director.; Fdhili, Ameni,actor.; Fdhili, Feten,actor.; Fdhili, Fide,actor.; Ben, Hneya,actor.; Ouhebi, Leila,actor.; Sifi, Samar,actor.; Film Movement (Firm),dst; Kanopy (Firm),dst;
Ameni Fdhili, Feten Fdhili, Fide Fdhili, Hneya Ben Elhedi Sbahi, Leila Ouhebi, Samar SifiOriginally produced by Film Movement in 2021.On a hot summer day, a crew of workers - men and women, young and old - arrive at dawn at a picturesque fig orchard in northwest Tunisia. We eavesdrop, through the sun-dappled leaves of the fig trees, on the young women stealing away precious moments from the foreman's watchful gaze. Meanwhile, the older women, tasked with the careful job of packing the tender fruit, watch and reminisce together as well. They joke, argue, debate, gossip, flirt, all the while painting an unhurried but riveting portrait of everyday life in the rural society, where class, gender, and circumstance often don't allow for such personal freedoms. Set over the course of a single day, and with a cast made up of an intergenerational ensemble of non-professional actors, UNDER THE FIG TREES is "an elegant, understated tapestry of complex interactions [and] a pleasurable and immersive experience" (The Hollywood Reporter) that ultimately reveals the ways in which sisterhood itself becomes an act of resistance.Mode of access: World Wide Web.
