- Really cute people / by Harwood-Jones, Markus,1991-author.;
- "Charlie Dee is headed for burnout. They've been burned before, both by their bio family and the now-defunct queer collective they once called home. So when they're asked to take a work trip outside the city, they jump at the chance. Sure, it's additional work with no additional pay, but it's also an excuse to get out of town, and out of their own head. That dream is shattered when Charlie opens the door to their supposedly private rental. There's a bird on the loose, circling the living room as it's chased by a cat, who is chased by a small child. The girl's parents, Hayden and Buffy, only manage to add to the chaos. They promise to leave first thing in the morning, but when a massive snowstorm rolls in, this overnight trip becomes a weeklong affair. Reluctantly charmed by this unfiltered, if forced, look at a loving, healthy family, Charlie begins to develop feelings for both Hayden and Buffy. And they both seem to be flirting back. But when a potential promotion lures Charlie back to the city, all three will have to decide where they go from here, and what it means to truly feel at home."--

- Every body : an honest and open look at sex from every angle / by Rothman, Julia,author.; Feinberg, Shaina,author.;
- When 'Our Bodies, Ourselves' was first published in 1970, it was the first book to give women truthful, complete information about their sexual and reproductive health. Today, our understanding of sexuality and health are radically different, yet there's no book that synthesizes a progressive understanding of gender, ability, identity and size. Until now. 'Every Body' is the first radically inclusive compendium of stories, essays, interviews, and art about sex. The result is a user's guide to your body, no matter its shape, size, or preference.

- Blood : the science, medicine, and mythology of menstruation / by Gunter, Jen,author.;
- Most of us know about as much about how the uterus and ovaries function as we do about how the liver works. Add in societal shame around the menstrual cycle, and it's not surprising that misinformation is widespread. But, as women's health advocate and trusted OB-GYN Dr. Jen Gunter writes, "you don't have to think about your liver 5 days a month for 30 years, so I'd argue people should know more about the uterus." Enter Blood, the galvanizing new book dispels the shame, mythology, and misinformation around menstruation with scientific facts, medical expertise, and a fierce feminist perspective. Surprising, funny, and fact-filled, Blood is an essential and empowering resource from the doctor who, in the words of Dr. Lori Brotto, Canada Research Chair in Women's Sexual Health, "takes the mystery out of women's health and replaces it with evidence-informed concrete recommendations."

- Includes bibliographical references and index."An inclusive and essential guide to reproductive health-including period problems, pelvic pain, menopause, fertility, sexual health, vaginal and urinary conditions, and overall wellbeing -- from leading expert and fierce advocate Dr. Karen Tang. Did you know 1 in 3 women experience menstrual abnormalities or pelvic issues? Yet these conditions are overwhelmingly misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or dismissed. The root causes for these issues, such as PCOS, endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, PMDD, or pelvic floor muscle dysfunction, don't receive the stream of funding for research and new treatments that other conditions do, despite the potential to affect up to half the population. Dr. Karen Tang is on a mission to transform how we engage with our bodies and our healthcare. It's Not Hysteria is a comprehensive guide to common conditions and potential treatment options, with practical tools such as symptom prompts and sample questions for your provider, to equip readers to take control of their gynecologic health. Reproductive healthcare, from abortion to gender-affirming care, is under siege. The onus continues to fall on patients to find and advocate for the care they need. In the face of uncertainty and misinformation, It's Not Hysteria is destined to become a new classic that educates and empowers women and those assigned female at birth"--

- Better off dead : post-traumatic stress disorder and the Canadian Armed Forces / by Doucette, Fred.;
- Fred Doucette always wanted to be a soldier. In the 1960s he joined the Canadian Armed Forces and served in Cyprus in the 1970s and <U+2019>80s and Bosnia in the 1990s. When he returned home to New Brunswick in 1999 after his last overseas tour, he was diagnosed with severe chronic post-traumatic stress disorder. Eventually released from the army, Fred found a position with the Operational Stress Injury Social Support (OSISS) program, where he supported serving soldiers and veterans for ten years. Better Off Dead chronicles Fred's efforts in helping to rehabilitate and support soldiers and veterans suffering from what the military terms "operational stress injuries." We meet Ted, saved from a suicide attempt by a timely phone call; Bob, at wit's end and reluctantly seeking help to overcome severe PTSD; Roger, caught in a cycle of violence and drug and alcohol abuse; and Jane, diagnosed with PTSD after having been sexually assaulted while on a tour of duty in Afghanistan. These accounts are raw, desperate, and often angry, but as Doucette shows, there is hope and real progress for those able to obtain proper diagnosis and treatment. Fred Doucette is the author of the memoir Empty Casing, He lives in Fredericton, New Brunswick.LSC

- Abortion to abolition : reproductive health and justice in Canada / by Paynter, Martha,author.; Hutt, Julia,illustrator.;
- Includes bibliographical references and index."Abortion and contraception are often understood as the central aspect of reproductive justice. But there is much more involved, from bodily autonomy, to freedom from sexual violence, to freedom to define the size and make up of our families, and to the right to parent the children we choose to have in safe and sustainable communities. While Canada has constitutionally affirmed aspects of reproductive liberation, it also has a colonial history of reproductive oppression and practices ongoing carceral policies that criminalize disproportionately Indigenous and racialized people, threatening their access to reproductive justice. This illustrated, accessible book will tell the empowering stories behind the struggles for reproductive justice in Canada, celebrating past wins and revealing an abolitionist path forward"--
