Silent hope [electronic resource]. by Nintendo of America Inc.;
Game.In a world without words, what hope is there for humanity? Once upon a time, the King of a peaceful land committed an unthinkable transgression when he stole his people's speech. After this betrayal, he leaped into a yawning chasm known as The Abyss never to be seen again. The Princess mourned the loss of her father and cried ceaselessly until her tears entombed her in a crystal teardrop. Many years after these events faded to memory, seven rainbow-colored lights flew from The Abyss. These rays of hope manifested before seven unlikely citizens, who suddenly found themselves drawn to the crystalline Princess. Now it is up to these newfound heroes to brave the depths of The Abyss and find the secluded King to free the Princess from her luminous prison. Explore, fight, and produce items to grow stronger as seven distinct heroes in the tragic world of Silent Hope. This isometric dungeon-crawler harkens back to the glory days of action RPGs but with a modern flair. Guided by The Princess, you'll delve into The Abyss and learn the mysteries of this now-ruined kingdom. Travel between The Abyss and Base Camp as your heroes grow stronger. Comb the dangerous floors below to collect treasures and materials, then return to your sanctuary to create new items to aid in your quest. Equip yourself with gear you've made to take down the throngs of fearsome foes that await you in the treacherous void. What hope is there in a world without words? Giving great presentations / by Provan, Drew.;
Presentation skills are now very much part of business and professional life. While some corporations may provide some training, in general, people's presentation skills are developed through trial and error with little guidance on putting together a presentation or how to deliver the key messages. There are several books on the market which advice on slide design and delivery of speeches. But the majority of these are large books that are rarely likely to be read from cover to cover, and others are little handbooks unlikely to cover all aspects of presentations. Giving Great Presentations in easy steps is devoted to deciding on the key messages, putting the presentations together on paper (before using the PC to design slides), using other media and settings to present information, dealing with anxiety, dressing appropriately for the event, and then, achieving perfect delivery each time.

Pegasus : how a spy in your pocket threatens the end of privacy, dignity, and democracy / by Richard, Laurent(Journalist),author.; Maddow, Rachel,writer of introduction.; Rigaud, Sandrine,author.;
"Pegasus is widely regarded as the most effective and sought-after cyber-surveillance system on the market. The system's creator, the NSO Group, a private corporation headquartered in Israel, is not shy about proclaiming its ability to thwart terrorists and criminals. "Thousands of people in Europe owe their lives to hundreds of our company employees," NSO's cofounder declared in 2019. This bold assertion may be true, at least in part, but it's by no means the whole story. NSO's Pegasus system has not been limited to catching bad guys. It's also been used to spy on hundreds, and maybe thousands, of innocent people around the world: heads of state, diplomats, human rights defenders, political opponents, and journalists. This spyware is as insidious as it is invasive, capable of infecting a private cell phone without alerting the owner, and of doing its work in the background, in silence, virtually undetectable. Pegasus can track a person's daily movement in real time, gain control of the device's microphones and cameras at will, and capture all videos, photos, emails, texts, and passwords-encrypted or not. This data can be exfiltrated, stored on outside servers, and then leveraged to blackmail, intimidate, and silence the victims. Its full reach is not yet known. "If they've found a way to hack one iPhone," says Edward Snowden, "they've found a way to hack all iPhones." Pegasus is a look inside the monthslong worldwide investigation, triggered by a single spectacular leak of data, and a look at how an international consortium of reporters and editors revealed that cyber intrusion and cyber surveillance are happening with exponentially increasing frequency across the globe, at a scale that astounds. Meticulously reported and masterfully written, Pegasus shines a light on the lives that have been turned upside down by this unprecedented threat and exposes the chilling new ways authoritarian regimes are eroding key pillars of democracy: privacy, freedom of the press, and freedom of speech"--
