Thirty years later, however, it has. Though immediately outlawed, time-travel technology is quickly appropriated by the mob, and used to cleanly dispose of anyone deemed a threat. The process is simple: When the mob wants someone to disappear, they simply send them back to the year 2047, where an assassin known as a "looper" quickly carries out the hit, and disposes of the body. Joe Simmons (Gordon-Levitt) is one of the most respected loopers around. Each kill earns him a big payday, and he's got big plans to retire to France. Then, one day, as Joe patiently awaits the appearance of his next target near the edge of a remote corn field, he's shocked to come face-to-face with his future self (Bruce Willis). When the younger Joe hesitates, the older Joe makes a daring escape. Now, in order to avoid the wrath of his underworld boss (Jeff Daniels), young Joe must "close the loop" and kill his older counterpart. Meanwhile, the revelation that a powerful crime boss in the future has set the underworld ablaze pits the two Joes on a violent collision course, with the fate of a devoted mother (Emily Blunt) and her young son hanging in the balance.Canadian Home Video Rating: 14A.DVD, region 1, anamorphic widescreen (2.35:1) presentation; Dolby Digital 5.1; described video.

- Water confidential : witnessing justice denied--the fight for safe drinking water in Indigenous and rural communities in Canada / by Blacklin, Susan,author.;
- Includes bibliographical references."In Water Confidential, Susan Blacklin (formerly Sue Peterson) revisits the important work of her late ex-husband, Dr. Hans Peterson. Beginning in 1996, Peterson, growing frustrated with his work in government funded research in Saskatchewan, brought attention to the desperate need for equal access to safe drinking water after a health inspector encouraged him to visit the Yellow Quill First Nation. In response to the issue, he developed biological technology for effective water treatment, still in use today. Peterson and Blacklin joined forces with scientists from around the world to establish the registered national charity, the Safe Drinking Water Foundation. The SDWF developed accredited education programs for schools across Canada, while also educating the general public and Water Treatment Operators from Indigenous communities. Advocacy became a high priority when they discovered a variety of challenges to their mission, including questionable government practices that were blocking the reality of safe drinking water in First Nations communities. As committed activists, it became their life's work to ensure that access to Peterson's technology was available to all rural and First Nations communities. Thirty years later, the majority of First Nations communities in Canada continue to face atrocious health issues as a result of unsafe drinking water. Blacklin, now retired, shares her deep concerns at the indifference, corruption, and lack of due diligence from all levels of government in response to the safe water movement. She echoes the work of the SDWF stating that Canada needs to implement federal drinking water regulations, and that a responsible government should use rather than abuse science when accurately determining Boil Water Advisories and addressing the deplorable state of access to potable water. In this passionate and timely memoir, Blacklin shares her experiences with fundraising, activism and lobbying work. She reveals the complexities of negotiating between cultures, communities and the provincial and federal government. Blacklin emphasizes that ensuring safe drinking water to each and every First Nations community should be the top priority toward reconciliation with Indigenous people of Canada."--

On this journey through a growing season from seeding to harvest, we experience this beautiful and sometimes harsh world of those who grow our food. Terry Mierau and Monique Scholte-- the heart and soul of this film - gave up a life as opera singers in Europe to fulfill their passion for ecological, small-scale farming. Terry, Monique and their three young children live in a house barn in the traditional single street Village of Neugberthal, in Southern Manitoba. They are equally determined to grow healthy food, a healthy family and community vitality in the process. In addition to Terry and Monique we follow several other Manitoba farmers of various scales and experience the complexities, challenges and rewards that this way of life can present. We also meet Dr. Martin Entz, and his team of scientists and researchers, who are dedicated to working with farmers to develop improved methods and technologies that are driving the organic practice forward. Activist, Dr. Vandana Shiva, and Climate Scientist, Dr. Ian Mauro, address issues related to farming in a Changing Climate. Consumers and processors discuss the growing preference for organic food and how this increased demand drives the momentum in ecological agriculture. At its core, this film is a celebration of all farmers, the return to Natural Systems Agriculture and the people who are part of this slow and steady revolution. By providing a Canadian perspective this film highlights the global social movement toward the regeneration of the land, farming, and communities for a healthier and truly sustainable future for all of us."E.DVD.
