Summary:

Sejong, the 4th king of the Joseon Dynasty, has been interested in advancing science and technology. He appoints Jang Young-sil, a slave and scientific genius, to be a low-level officer despite bitter opposition from the court. Jang blossoms his talents by making the most accurate water clock that has ever been made. Sejong wants to create a new calendar that can replace the Chinese one from the Ming Dynasty.
