Summary:

DCI Jess James, DI Sunny Khan, and their team uncover the truth behind a dismembered body found in Whitney Marsh. They delve into the lives of four suspects, each of whom has a history with the victim. Juliet Cooper, lecturer at a prestigious university, is dealing with her troubled teenage daughter while fending off a serious complaint at work. Melinda Ricci has left London behind, returning to Ireland to become a correspondent for a populist news channel, while caring for her recently paralyzed fiance. Asif Syed has been working as an interpreter since escaping Afghanistan, attempting to help other refugees who weren't as fortunate. And Marty Baines, isolated and vulnerable due to his autism, is drawn in by the most hateful aspects of online culture, even as he tries to care for his homebound mother.
