Bobby Seale, George Carlin, Jerry Rubin, John Lennon, Mike Douglas, Yoko OnoOriginally produced by Kino Lorber in 2024.For one extraordinary week beginning on February 14th, 1972, the Revolution WAS televised. DAYTIME REVOLUTION takes us back in time to the week that John Lennon and Yoko Ono descended upon a Philadelphia broadcasting studio to co-host the iconic Mike Douglas Show, at the time the most popular show on daytime television with an audience of 40 million viewers a week. What followed was five unforgettable episodes of television, with Lennon and Ono at the helm and Douglas bravely keeping the show on track. Acting as both producers and hosts, Lennon and Ono handpicked their guests, including controversial choices like Yippie founder Jerry Rubin and Black Panther Chairman Bobby Seale, as well as political activist Ralph Nader and comic truth teller George Carlin. Their version of daytime TV was a radical take on the traditional format, incorporating candid Q&A sessions with their transfixed audience, conversations about current issues like police violence and women’s liberation, conceptual art events, and one-of-a-kind musical performances, including a unique duet with Lennon and Chuck Berry and a poignant rendition of Lennon’s “Imagine.” A document of the past that speaks to our turbulent present, DAYTIME REVOLUTION captures the power that art can have when it reaches out to communicate, the prescience of that dialogue, and the bravery of two artists who never took the easy way out as they fought for their vision of a better world.Mode of access: World Wide Web.

- Manufacturing Chaos. by Pemberton, Justin,film director.; Farrier, David,actor.; Video Project (Firm),dst; Kanopy (Firm),dst;
David FarrierOriginally produced by Video Project in 2022.MANUFACTURING CHAOS offers a survey on the recent rise of disinformation from a global perspective, looking at how changes in the way we receive information and connect with one another have influenced such events as Brexit, COVID-19, the 2016 election, Qanon, "deepfakes" and artificial intelligence, and more. Once a site of what many considered to be utopic potential, the primacy of social media platforms on the internet has rapidly turned it into a ready vehicle for disinformation. The film examines how the convergence of rising inequality, our increasing reliance on the online world, combined with new tools for manipulation, has enabled the creation of parallel realities with dramatic social consequences. People living within the same community can now perceive the world in vastly different ways, depending on where they hang out online. The power to manipulate narratives and herd people toward falsehood raises the stakes so high that peace and cooperation are becoming increasingly fragile, the goal of disinformation.Mode of access: World Wide Web.

Originally produced by New Day Films in 2023.Hedge fund Alden Global Capital is quietly gobbling up newspapers across the country and gutting them, but no one knows why-- until journalist Julie Reynolds begins to investigate. Backed by the NewsGuild union, the newsmen and women go toe-to-toe with their “vulture capitalist” owners in a battle to save and rebuild local journalism in America. Who will control the future of America’s news ecosystem: Wall Street billionaires concerned only with profit, or those who see journalism as an essential public service, the lifeblood of our democracy? “The collapse of local news is a deep threat to democracy and the fabric of communities. Stripped for Parts vividly shows the causes and consequences of the decimation of community journalism.” - Steve Waldman, Founder and President, Rebuild Local NewsMode of access: World Wide Web.
