During that time, words were Salma’s salvation. She began covertly composing poems on scraps of paper and, through an intricate system, was able to sneak them out of the house, eventually getting them into the hands of a publisher. Journalist Layla Wright travels from her home town in Liverpool to meet the young women at the forefront of a new movement on the political right who use highly inflammatory language. Immersing herself in a growing online community of influencers, podcasters and creators who see themselves as on the front line of a war against progressive politics, Layla seeks to find out what is driving women her own age to share extreme and often offensive content to their followers on social media. In Nashville, she spends time with 16-year-old Hannah, an ambitious rising star on the right. Homeschooled and brought up in a traditional patriarchal household led by her former pastor father, she is expected to be a wife and mother first. Layla also meets 24-year-old Morgonn in Arizona, a conservative influencer who has risen to prominence by posting content which is critical of feminism and the LGBTQ+ movement. Plus Layla travels to the US-Mexico border to meet Christie, who makes regular missions to confront migrants illegally crossing into the country and live-streams her findings to her followers. Originally produced by Royal Anthropological Institute in 2008.Jackie, Mildred, Eureka and Thuli are the women behind Bobbi Bear, a nonprofit organization based in Durban, South Africa, that counsels sexually abused children and works to bring their abusers to justice. Born out of recognition of cultural stigmas that discourage reporting abuse and inadequate methods of communicating with young victims, Bobbi Bear developed a method of letting children use teddy bears to explain their abuse. Since 1992, the multiracial staff has become the fearless and powerful voice for those victims who would otherwise continue to live in fear, powerless against their oppressors and ignored by the legal system.Mode of access: World Wide Web.

Once upon a time, an indigo spirit stopped in El Salvador and found the story of a country wounded and tired of centuries of violence. What surprised the spirit the most is that many wounds were still open. It was then that the spirit decided to bring together three young actresses to interpret and share the testimonies of women who were raped during the civil war in that country.
